At Asheville Neurology, our Board Certified Neurologists Dr. Armstrong, Dr. Patton and Dr. Engelbrecht work with our Physician Assistants to ensure that we are providing quality care to our patients and their loved ones. We believe in fostering an environment that embraces diversity and meets every patient where they are at. Our office environment is gentle and welcoming, and designed with our patients and their loved ones’ experiences in mind.
Patient care, for us, begins the moment we receive a new referral. The first step in our process is to triage the referral to make sure that we believe that the diagnosis or symptoms that the patient is being referred for is within the scope of our practice. We strive to accept patients into our practice that we truly believe that we can help.
Once the referral has been accepted, our new patients receive a call from one of our care team members in order to get them scheduled. During this phone call, we make sure that our patients are aware of the resources available to them, including accessing our Patient Portal and pre-registering for their appointments. Because of our pre-registration process, we are able to get valuable updated clinical and demographic information prior to our patient’s appointment, which allows us to spend more time during the visit focusing on what you want to talk about.
When it is time for your appointment, you will be welcomed by our front office team and asked to sign a few consent forms via our Phreesia Pads. These forms must be updated at each appointment. Following check in, a member of your doctor’s care team will take your vitals and ask you if you’ve seen any other doctors or gone to the hospital recently. When we can, we always try to get those records prior to your appointment so that your provider has everything they need to provide you with exceptional care. After the care team has all of the information they need to better serve you, it will be time to meet your doctor.
Our Physicians use a Care Team approach, which means that they work closely with their three assigned staff members and one of our Physician Assistants to provide you with efficient and well-coordinated care. Each care team consists of three staff members, at least one of who is a Certified Medical Assistant. Using a care team approach allows our teams to familiarize themselves with each Physician’s patients so that we can create lasting relationships and a more comfortable environment for our patients and their families.
If this manner of care sounds appealing to you, we hope that you will choose Asheville Neurology Specialists for your compassionate and innovative neurological care.
